The Construction Management Financial Operations Intern supports the financial and operational activities of residential construction projects by assisting with pricing, order verification, invoicing, and documentation review. This role works closely with construction management, sales, and accounting teams to ensure builder orders are accurately priced, production-ready, and invoiced in accordance with established procedures.
This internship provides hands-on exposure to construction financial operations, cost estimating, and cross-functional coordination while contributing to efficient project execution and financial accuracy.
The intern is responsible for completing all tasks outlined in assigned summer project plans and must participate in mandatory internship programming, evaluations, and professional development sessions as directed by the Program Manager.
Develop and prepare cost estimates and pricing proposals for assigned product lines and builder accounts
Maintain and update builder and dealer pricing manuals to ensure accuracy and alignment with current costs and policies
Review drafting blueprints for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with approved specifications
Support order processing activities, including data entry, documentation review, and coordination with internal teams
Review and confirm pricing accuracy for builder-submitted house orders
Verify builder house production orders to ensure completeness and alignment with approved specifications
Prepare and process invoices for house orders in accordance with established procedures and timelines
Maintain strict confidentiality of financial, pricing, and organizational information
Complete assigned internship project deliverables and special projects as directed by management
Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Drafting, or Business Administration with at least two (2) years of completed coursework
Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Valid driver’s license and insurability under company policy (preferred but not required)
Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds as needed
Professional office environment with routine use of standard office equipment
Ability to remain in a stationary position approximately 50% of the time
Occasional movement throughout the office to access files, equipment, or workspaces
Flexible hours to accommodate academic commitments
Regular business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Travel is anticipated for new interns and may include a site tour in Detroit Lakes, MN, which typically requires an overnight stay; lodging, transportation, and related expenses are provided
Interns may be expected to travel to Winnebago, Nebraska, for professional development sessions depending on assigned work location (does not apply to Dynamic Homes interns)
