Position Summary

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining clean, sanitary, and orderly facilities within assigned areas. This role ensures a safe, welcoming environment for occupants by performing routine cleaning, sanitizing, and light maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently or collaboratively in a team setting during second-shift hours.


Key Responsibilities

  • Follow established cleaning procedures, schedules, and safety protocols

  • Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, high dusting, floor care, and trash removal

  • Sanitize restrooms, common areas, and high-touch surfaces to maintain hygiene standards

  • Maintain organized and properly stocked cleaning supply and equipment storage areas

  • Safely and effectively use cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment

  • Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, and carpet cleaners

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding work status or issues

  • Support a clean, safe, and professional work environment at all times

  • Perform other related duties as assigned


Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standards

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Reliable attendance and punctuality

  • Physical stamina to perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks

Preferred:

  • Previous custodial or janitorial experience, particularly in a medical or professional setting

  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal practices

  • Experience operating commercial cleaning equipment


Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods

  • Regular exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment

  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including heat and cold

  • Requires manual dexterity, physical endurance, and attention to safety practices


Schedule

  • On-call position

  • Second shift: 4:30 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.

  • Monday through Friday

  • Some weekends may be required based on operational needs
