SUMMARY
This role primarily involves implementing analytical techniques to resolve recurring geospatial and GIS issues, administering geospatial databases, and ensuring quality control and assurance of geospatial data projects. The specialist also participates in interdisciplinary teams with various stakeholders, including other federal agencies, Regional Geospatial Coordinators, and BIA divisions on mapping projects.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a professional office setting or remote telework environment. Must be able to operate standard office equipment, including computers, printers, and communication systems.

ROLE/LOCATION SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
This position focuses on applying geospatial analysis techniques, supporting database management, and assisting with GIS project tasks. Responsibilities include maintaining metadata, developing basic GIS dashboards, and contributing to interdisciplinary mapping efforts. Work may be performed on-site in Lakewood, CO or remotely, depending on project needs.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Occasional evening or weekend work may be required depending on mission-critical deadlines.
