WarHorse Gaming is a gaming and entertainment division of Ho-Chunk, Inc., developed in partnership with the Nebraska Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association (HBPA). Position Summary
The Surveillance Operator I is responsible for monitoring, documenting, and reporting activity across the property to safeguard company assets, ensure compliance with state regulations, and uphold company policies and procedures. This role uses surveillance technology and direct observation to support investigations, regulatory compliance, and operational integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor guest and employee activity using closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems and personal observation to identify potential criminal activity, regulatory violations, or internal control concerns.
Capture, track, and document video evidence for compliance, investigations, and risk management purposes.
Record and report questionable activities, preparing written reports for appropriate personnel.
Monitor and respond to alarm systems.
Review video footage to resolve disputes, identify suspicious or illegal activity, and support other departments as needed.
Maintain strict confidentiality of property and company-related information.
Operate monitoring room equipment, including computers and camera systems.
Support investigations and participate in court actions related to gaming violations when required.
Prepare accurate daily reports and logs of surveillance activities.
Conduct audits of operational procedures (e.g., count rooms, slots, food and beverage, cage, and security) and document findings.
Ensure all surveillance equipment functions properly during assigned shifts.
Conduct routine video surveillance and maintain detailed records of observed activities in gaming and non-gaming areas.
Respond to requests from supervisors, management, regulatory bodies, and other departments.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
Must be 21 years of age or older.
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.
One (1) year of experience in casino gaming preferred.
Ability to perform basic math and demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, surveillance systems, and related software.
Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of all table games preferred.
Manual dexterity to operate surveillance equipment including computers, camera keyboards, and joysticks.
Ability to secure and maintain a Nebraska Gaming License.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Exposure to secondhand smoke, loud noise, and varying lighting conditions.
Occasional exposure to cramped spaces, heights, and safety hazards.
Requires frequent sitting and operation of surveillance equipment with prolonged visual concentration.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
Requires manual dexterity, coordination, and physical agility for equipment operation.
Frequent use of vision and color recognition; regular verbal and written communication.

Due to the nature of the gaming and entertainment industry, team members must be able to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.
