WarHorse Gaming is a gaming and entertainment division of Ho-Chunk, Inc., developed in partnership with the Nebraska Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association (HBPA). Position Summary
The Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing, coordinating, and executing casino promotions and events to enhance guest engagement and property visibility. This role manages project timelines, ensures regulatory compliance, and supports cross-departmental communication to deliver seamless event experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Execute all aspects of promotions and events, including prize drawings, entertainment, VIP experiences, and casino marketing initiatives.
Serve as a representative of WarHorse Gaming at off-property events and promotions, including occasional out-of-market travel.
Manage projects from planning to completion, ensuring accuracy, attention to detail, and timely execution.
Process cash transactions in compliance with established Marketing Operations policies (e.g., buy-ins, re-buys, slot and table tournaments).
Set up, operate, and break down promotional event equipment (e.g., audio systems, staging, signage, and banners).
Draft contest rules, waivers, and release forms for digital, social media, and other contests.
Maintain inventory of promotional prizes and oversee prize distribution at events.
Communicate event details across internal departments to ensure alignment and preparation.
Attend required meetings, trainings, and pre-shift briefings to remain informed of schedules and expectations.
Comply with departmental schedules, including check-ins, office hours, meetings, and shift coverage.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
Must be 21 years of age or older
High school diploma or GED
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and casino-specific software (CMS, LMS, EMS)
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong interpersonal, guest service, and problem-solving skills
Ability to collaborate with multiple team members
Preferred:
Two (2) years of casino marketing experience
Knowledge of casino marketing programs
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Exposure to weather extremes, loud noise, secondhand smoke, and standard casino conditions
Mobility throughout casino property and event spaces, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
Physical activities include standing, bending, setting up equipment, and prolonged periods of movement
Regular communication requiring verbal, written, and non-verbal skills
Requires dexterity, balance, and sensory abilities (vision, hearing, touch)
Schedule
Full-time schedule varies based on property needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Occasional out-of-area and overnight travel required
