SUMMARY
The Journey Level Project Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the overall performance and delivery of contract work, supporting the National Park Service’s data management and technical initiatives. This position works closely with the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) to plan, coordinate, and guide project activities using agile project management approaches. The manager is responsible for aligning technical efforts with mission objectives, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope, and continuously improving processes and outcomes. In addition to managing day-to-day tasks, this role supports contract transition services to guarantee seamless continuity of operations. Success in this position requires a combination of strong leadership, technical understanding, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to stakeholder engagement and communication.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partnering with the COR to plan, direct, and oversee data management projects and technical workstreams using agile methodologies.
- Providing comprehensive project management services for all tasks outlined including scheduling, resource allocation, and milestone tracking.
- Reporting regularly on task progress, level of effort, potential risks, and project metrics to ensure transparency and alignment with client objectives.
- Preparing and maintaining technical documentation to support project decisions, configurations, and operational continuity.
- Offering recommendations on technical architecture, data systems, security controls, emerging technologies, and process improvements.
- Supporting contract transition services, including developing transition plans, managing knowledge transfer activities, and coordinating with incoming or outgoing teams to ensure uninterrupted support.
- Collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners to foster a cohesive and solution-focused environment.
- Advocating for best practices in data governance, change management, and technical execution to enhance overall program effectiveness and quality.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline.
- At least 5 years’ experience as a Project Manager, with increasing responsibilities in information and data systems design and management, and agile approaches to managing work.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects of similar scope and complexity, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Must provide examples of successful project delivery within budget and timeline constraints.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
- Supervision is required for this position.
- As a Senior level personnel, this position may provide oversight of others.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work can be performed at the contractor's facility or at the National Park Service (NPS) facility at Building 50, Denver Federal Center, Lakewood, CO 80225.
- Remote work is allowed with COR or task inspector approval.
