Department: Sales

Reports to: Director of Sales and Marketing

Location: Detroit Lakes, MN

Salary Exempt: $55,000/yr.

Summary

The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for achieving sales targets and expanding market share within an assigned geographical territory. This role involves developing strategic relationships with customers, managing sales pipelines, and working closely with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess an excellent understanding of the sales process, and the ability to drive business growth in their designated area.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Sales and Business Development:
    • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve territory sales targets.
    • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the territory.
    • Build and maintain relationships with existing Dealers/Developers to ensure repeat business and retention.
    • Monitor competitor activity and market trends to adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Dealer/Developer Relationship Management:
    • Act as the main point of contact for Dealer/Developers within the territory.
    • Understand Dealer/Developers needs and offer tailored solutions to enhance customer satisfaction.
    • Provide regular training and support to Dealer/Developers within the territory.
  • Team Leadership and Coordination:
    • Work closely with the sales team to coordinate efforts and ensure alignment with company goals.
    • Provide regular training and support to Dealer/Developers within the territory.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
    • Track sales performance and provide regular reports to senior management.
    • Analyze sales data and market trends to identify areas for improvement.
    • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of sales activities, forecasts, and results.
  • Operational Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the sales team to coordinate efforts and ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, ethical standards, and legal requirements.
    • Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing, product development, and customer service, to ensure smooth operations.

Key Requirements:

 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or equivalent experience in related field.
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of experience in sales.
    • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
    • Experience managing a sales territory is an advantage.
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
    • Ability to analyze data and develop actionable insights.
    • Self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management skills.
    • Proficient in CRM software and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Travel:

  • Travel 25% within the assigned territory.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with overtime as needed.
