Job Description

Job Title: Janitor (Part-Time)

Business Title: Dynamic Systems Inc.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

 

Pay: $17.75/hr plus $4.93 per eligble hour for Health and Welfare Fringe

 

Job Summary:

The Janitor is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in a designated area, ensuring that facilities are sanitary, safe, and welcoming for all occupants. This role includes a variety of tasks such as cleaning, sanitizing, and light maintenance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team. Cleaning services may include basic groundskeeping work outside of the facility around the property. Including but not limited to; street sweeping, litter pickup, etc.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Cleaning Duties:
    • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors. C
    • Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and mirrors.
    • Empty trash and recycling bins and ensure proper disposal.
    • Dust and clean surfaces, including desks, tables, and windowsills.
    • Wash windows and glass doors.
    • Clean and maintain kitchen and break areas.

 

  • Maintenance and Upkeep:
    • Perform routine inspections to identify areas needing cleaning or maintenance.
    • Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
    • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Custodial Project Manager.
    • Assist with light maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs and minor repairs.

 

  • Special Projects:
    • Assist with setup and cleanup for events and meetings.
    • Perform seasonal tasks such as snow removal and salting walkways in winter.
    • Ensure all areas comply with health and safety standards.

 

  • General Duties:
    • Follow established cleaning procedures and schedules.
    • Maintain a clean and organized storage area for cleaning supplies and equipment.
    • Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and effectively. 
    • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods.
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, and carpet cleaners.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to perform strenuous tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
  • Ability to work with cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions (heat, cold, etc.).
