Summary

 

The Lead Risk Insurance Analyst is responsible for conducting in-depth risk assessments, deciphering commercial insurance needs, and providing actionable insights to management to support effective commercial risk insurance management decision-making. Administers the organization’s comprehensive commercial insurance program, including but not limited to insurance certificates, securing commercial insurance coverage, bond requests, contractual liability, claim’s processing, and renewal applications, ensuring the company’s insurance risk liability is low.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and action plans.
  • Analyze and interpret complex data sets to assess risk insurance exposure, trends, and potential impacts on business operations.
  • Review and/or create policies and procedures as well as internal forms to collect necessary data for incidents, Certificate of Insurance (COI) requests, create departmental presentations, when necessary, etc.
  • Prepare detailed risk reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
  • Review and processes COI requests for varied types of insurance certificates for landlord leases, contracts, proposals/bids, company activities and vendors ensuring that the company’s exposure is not jeopardized.
  • Examine and assist with insurance claims for property damage, public liability, and motor vehicles.
  • Act as a liaison between claims adjuster and company personnel.
  • Complete quarterly audits on various insurance policies.
  • Assist with company insurance renewals including collection of necessary information from divisional leaders for application completion or further supplemental documents.
  • Suggests improvements to ensure compliance and overall department efficiency when deficiencies are detected.
  • Collaborates directly with agents, brokers, adjusters, carriers, and bond professionals.
  • Compiles, organizes, and keeps extensive records of insurance policies, loss run information and coverage for the company.
  • Maintains insurance schedules and tracks payment of insurance premium invoices.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as requested by management.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

 

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

 

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

 

This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool, as necessary.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

 

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area travel may be expected.

 

Required Experience

  • Demonstrated abilities in sound judgment, planning, organizing, creativity, communication, and a strong work ethic with a willingness to place work related objectives ahead of personal interests.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in commercial risk insurance management or related field.

 

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.

 

  • Professional certifications such as Certified Risk Analyst (CRA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) a plus.
