Job Title: Radiologic and Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist

SUMMARY
The Radiologic Technologist/CT Technologist (RT/CT) will provide general X-ray and CT imaging services at the Cass Lake PHS Indian Hospital (CLIHS). This includes diagnostic imaging, maintaining equipment, ensuring adherence to safety and infection control protocols, and collaborating with healthcare staff to support patient care.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform general imaging exams such as chest, head, abdominal, spine, and extremities.
- Conduct CT-related imaging exams after installation of in-house CT equipment.
- Maintain a high degree of accuracy in imaging procedures and ensure compliance with safety protocols (e.g., ALARA principle).
- Manage image records and ensure proper documentation of patient examinations.
- Perform quality control on radiology units and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
- Participate in quality assurance programs and proficiency testing as requested.
- Adhere to infection control and safety standards, including the use of personal protective equipment.
- Provide professional, respectful interactions with patients and staff.
- Support hospital-wide continuous quality improvement efforts.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Expertise in diagnostic radiology and CT imaging techniques.
- Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) for RT and CT.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- Ability to assess and adapt to patient-specific imaging needs, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric care.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited program required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Sciences, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a certified Radiologic Technologist with demonstrated competency in CT imaging is required.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in advanced imaging modalities or in a senior technologist role with responsibilities in quality assurance, leadership, or advanced technical procedures is preferred.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in the Radiology Department, Emergency/Urgent Care, and Inpatient Departments of CLIHS. The environment may involve exposure to radiation and infectious diseases, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to lift and position patients for imaging procedures. Prolonged standing during examinations and operations of radiology equipment.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
- Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Typically worked as 8-10 hour shifts, Monday through Friday (e.g., 7:30 AM–4:00 PM or 3:30 PM–12:00 AM).
- On-Call Coverage
- Weekday on-call coverage may occasionally be required after scheduled shifts, with a required 45-minute response time from notification.
- Weekend on-call coverage starts at 7:00 AM on Saturday and ends at 7:00 AM on Monday (48 hours total).
- Holiday on-call coverage includes 24 hours, beginning at 7:00 AM on the holiday and ending at 7:00 AM the following day.
- The work schedule is flexible to accommodate temporary staffing needs and may include short-term, fill-in notice.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Regular commute to primary work location is not considered travel. No travel anticipated.
CLEARANCE/LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in both Radiography and Computed Tomography (CT) is required.
- Compliance with state licensing requirements.
- Current BLS certification.
- Valid driver’s license.
The following is preferred:
- Advanced certifications in specialized modalities such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Mammography (M), Interventional Radiology (IR), or Quality Management (QM) is preferred but not required.
- Advanced Computed Tomography (CT) credential with expertise in complex CT procedures, including contrast media administration and 3D imaging reconstruction is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in using Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) and Radiology Information Systems (RIS) is preferred but not required.
