SUMMARY

 

​​​​​​ ​​The Senior Grant Manager will lead and oversee all aspects of grant management services, focusing on compliance, financial analysis, and technical assistance to ensure that grants are managed according to federal guidelines and best practices. This position is critical in optimizing grant administration processes, conducting financial reviews, and coordinating training and support for grant recipients. The Senior Grant Manager collaborates closely with other managers to monitor grant performance, address compliance issues, and provide strategic guidance during grant submission and reporting. This role also involves building and maintaining relationships with funding organizations, enhancing the organization's funding strategies, and aligning grant activities with organizational goals.​

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Grant Program Leadership: Oversee the research, preparation, submission, and follow-up of grants from various sources, including industry, foundation, and government grants. Ensure that grant activities are aligned with the organization’s strategic goals and funding priorities.
  • Compliance and Monitoring: Lead the evaluation and monitoring of grant programs to ensure compliance with federal regulations and internal policies. Regularly review grant documentation, financial reports, and expenditure statements to verify accuracy and adherence to grant terms.
  • ​Financial Analysis and Reporting: Conduct thorough financial reviews and analysis of grant expenditures to ensure funds are utilized effectively and within budget constraints. Prepare comprehensive financial reports and present findings to leadership and stakeholders.
  • ​Technical Assistance and Training: Provide technical support to grant recipients, ensuring they understand compliance requirements and best practices. Coordinate and conduct training programs for internal staff and external partners to improve grant management capabilities.
  • Strategic Guidance and Proposal Review: Review and provide strategic input on grant proposals, ensuring clear, compelling, and compliant submissions. Offer guidance during the research and drafting stages to align grant applications with funding agency priorities and organizational objectives.
  • ​Relationship Management: Identify, cultivate, and enhance relationships with foundations, government agencies, and other funding entities. Represent the organization in meetings and discussions with funders to support ongoing and future funding needs.
  • ​Process Optimization: Continuously improve grant administration processes, including tracking grant applications, managing timelines, optimizing database management, and ensuring timely submission of deliverables.
  • ​Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of grant activities, including documentation of payments, expenditures, proposals, and communications with funders. Ensure all records comply with audit and regulatory requirements.​

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Strong knowledge of federal grant management processes, compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • ​Expertise in financial analysis, budget management, and reporting.
  • ​Excellent leadership and strategic planning abilities.
  • ​Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement and relationship building.
  • ​Proficiency in grant management software, data analysis tools, and reporting platforms.
  • ​Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.​

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

 

  • ​​​​​​ ​​Bachelor’s degree with 12-15 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 10-13 years of experience in grant management, finance, or a related field.
  • ​At least 4 years of experience in a management capacity, overseeing grant programs and staff.
  • ​Experience in federal grants management, particularly within the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) or similar organizations, is highly preferred.​

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

 

​​​​​​​Responsible for overseeing grant management tasks, ensuring accurate and timely completion. Provide regular reports on the status of grants, compliance, and financial analysis. Supervise and evaluate the work of assigned grant management staff.​

 

 WORK ENVIRONMENT

 

​​​​​​​​The work environment is primarily office-based, involving collaboration with team members and interaction with stakeholders, with occasional offsite meetings and travel as required.​
