SUMMARY
The Project Director holds overall accountability for the successful execution of the project, ensuring that all program management, grants management services, and human-centered design (HCD) integration activities meet the strategic goals and expectations of both the customer and Flatwater Inc. This role involves providing leadership, direction, and oversight to project teams across multiple locations, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, contractual obligations, and organizational standards. The Project Director serves as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, managing communication, resource allocation, and project performance. By maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction, the Project Director ensures that project objectives are achieved within the established timelines and budget, supporting the overall mission and strategic goals of Flatwater Inc. and its clients.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the overall project execution, ensuring all program management, grants management services, and HCD integration activities are aligned with customer expectations and the strategic goals of Flatwater Inc.
- Oversee the development and implementation of project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and project milestones are achieved within the established timelines.
- Act as the primary liaison between the customer, project teams, and Flatwater Inc., facilitating clear communication, addressing concerns, and ensuring that project deliverables meet quality and compliance standards.
- Monitor project performance metrics and progress across all locations, implementing corrective actions as needed to maintain project alignment with contractual obligations and strategic objectives.
- Ensure compliance with all federal regulations, industry standards, and organizational policies, maintaining high levels of accountability and transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, promoting a collaborative environment and fostering continuous improvement to enhance project outcomes.
- Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management at Flatwater Inc. and customer representatives, highlighting key achievements, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities for follow-on projects and assisting in proposal development to expand client relationships and service offerings.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven leadership and management skills, with experience overseeing large-scale projects and ensuring alignment with strategic goals and customer expectations.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively engage with customers, stakeholders, and project teams, ensuring transparency and collaboration.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, capable of managing multiple project components simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
- In-depth knowledge of program management, grants management services, and human-centered design (HCD) principles, with a track record of successfully integrating these elements into project execution.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools for scheduling, tracking, reporting, and resource management.
- Ability to analyze complex project data, identify potential risks, and develop actionable solutions to ensure project success and customer satisfaction.
- Experience in ensuring compliance with federal regulations, industry standards, and company policies, demonstrating a commitment to accountability and ethical conduct.
- Strategic thinking and business development skills to identify new opportunities, support proposal development, and contribute to the growth of Flatwater Inc. and its client relationships.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree with 8-10 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 6-8 years of relevant experience.
- At least 2 years in a supervisory capacity, preferably in project management roles within federal grants management, program management, or HCD integration.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale federal projects, particularly within ACF or similar organizations, is highly preferred.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Responsible for overseeing task assignments and providing regular reports on the state of each monitored task. Supervises, manages, supports, and evaluates personnel assigned to program management, grants management services, and HCD integration tasks.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment is primarily office-based, involving collaboration with team members and interaction with stakeholders, with occasional offsite meetings and travel as required.
