Pay Rate: $18.00/hour
Schedule: Open availability required. Must be able to work all shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Position Summary

WarHorse Gaming is seeking a dedicated and dependable Cook to join our Food & Beverage team. In this role, you will prepare high-quality food according to established recipes and standards while maintaining a clean, safe, and guest-focused work environment. Successful candidates are team-oriented, thrive in a fast-paced setting, and are committed to delivering exceptional service.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, guest requests, and quality standards.
  • Perform food preparation tasks including slicing, dicing, chopping, portioning, and plating.
  • Follow proper food handling, storage, rotation, and sanitation procedures.
  • Ensure all food products meet quality, presentation, and safety standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, workstations, and storage areas.
  • Monitor inventory levels and replenish supplies as needed.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Identify and address health, safety, and sanitation concerns.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to guests and team members.
  • Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
  • Support company initiatives while promoting WarHorse Gaming's Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Must be at least 19 years of age.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • One to five years of cooking experience in a high-volume food service environment.
  • Knowledge of kitchen sanitation, food safety, and food preparation techniques.
  • Ability to follow recipes, measurements, and production specifications.
  • Strong communication and guest service skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to take direction and work as part of a team.
  • Must possess and maintain personal culinary tools, including knives.

Preferred

  • ServSafe Certification.
  • Experience in hospitality, gaming, or restaurant environments.

Schedule Requirements

Due to the nature of the hospitality and entertainment industry, team members must be available to work flexible schedules, including:

Licensing & Certifications

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Nebraska Gaming License.
  • ServSafe Certification preferred.
